Joel serves as Research Intern for Instrumentation in the lab, which is an appealing mix of equipment design and maintenance, undergrad management, lab logistics, and more. He takes particular joy in designing custom lab and field equipment, drawing on his background in engineering. The other highlight of his job is working with the bright and motivated crew. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, tinkering, and occasionally drawing comics or other modest artworks.
