I am an ecologist with a background in hyperspectral remote sensing, quantitative ecology, and trait ecology. My current research projects include foliar trait mapping in South Africa’s Cape Floristic Region, using image spectroscopy time-series to measure canopy phenology, and applying foliar trait mapping techniques in agriculture.

A principal components analysis of foliar traits predicted from AVIRIS-NG image spectroscopy over De Hoop Nature Reserve, South Africa. The component axes fall along known plant trait tradeoffs, allowing one to visualize these tradeoffs across the landscape.
