I am a PhD student at the Townsend Lab. My Ph.D. research focuses on in-field early detection and monitoring of potato diseases using airborne hyperspectral imagery, integrating machine learning and deep learning techniques to uncover the biological mechanisms underlying spectral responses and improve classification performance under real-world scenarios. Before joining the lab, I contributed to the Dutch-German cooperation project SPECTORS, in which I designed a drone-based workflow for mapping invasive species in grasslands. I also developed an open-source R package rtry for plant trait data preprocessing, focused on the international database TRY, when I worked as a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry.
